Thirty-House Hopscotch 

Thirty-House Hospscotch is a performance made in the Letná Park in Prague. The event comes from observations of the daily life of the performer: every day that he walked through the parks on the way to the Academy he was confronted with hopscotch games made in chalk on the floor by children. Despite its childlike character, the game focuses on other motifs, having its origin as a military exercise or representing a symbolic and even didactic activity that exposes a route that tries to reach an ideal place, an end, which could be heaven or paradise. In the action the figure enters the scene and proceeds to draw on the floor of one of the park's roads, under the metronome, a deviated hopscotch game with thirty houses. The action is intended to establish associations with the place, space and its context - provoking relations between time and the game through the presence of the metronome and its history, the connection with the observations by the artist, the symbolic positioning of the action in a place of historical events like Park Letná or the open space for the metaphor that the game calls for - there are several possible reasons that precede the performance, idealized in the year of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. The figure, after completing the task, proceeds to leave the scene, leaving the game open to what it still can be, the possibility of interaction with the inhabitants and local people who pass daily through the park until it becomes the dust and power of time, faiding into the gray tones that make up the park's road.
